A distressing incident unfolded at the Royal Victoria Place shopping center in Tunbridge Wells when a young girl fell from an upstairs window above Caffè Nero.

Emergency services, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex, responded promptly to the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported the child falling approximately 15ft from the window, leading to a swift response from ambulance crews.

Despite the alarming incident, the child remained conscious at the scene, and SECAmb confirmed that the victim was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to a hospital in London.

In response to the incident, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s (TWBC) Environmental Health team took action by serving a prohibition notice.

This notice prevents customers or the public from accessing the upstairs seating area of the Caffè Nero branch involved in the incident.

Ambulance Service Confirms Response

SECAmb confirmed receiving reports of a child falling from height at Royal Victoria Place around 2:25 pm on the fateful Friday afternoon. Ambulance crews, assisted by the Air Ambulance Charity, attended the scene.

The child was assessed, treated, and subsequently airlifted to a London hospital for further checks.
