ITV, having ended Schofield’s association with the network, including his role as the host of Dancing on Ice and the British Soap Awards, turned to singer and presenter Jane McDonald to host the awards ceremony.
This led fans to express their desire for McDonald to also take over as the host of Dancing on Ice.
One Twitter user named Jodie praised McDonald’s hosting skills at the soap awards, stating that it was the first time they had enjoyed watching the event in its entirety.
They questioned why McDonald couldn’t present Dancing on Ice, believing she would be a superior choice.
Another Twitter user named Weasel predicted that McDonald could potentially become the new face of We Buy Any Car and also take on the role of presenter on Dancing on Ice.

With the next series of Dancing on Ice not scheduled until January 2024 and currently not in production, an ITV spokesperson mentioned that further announcements regarding the show would be made in due course.
In the meantime, McDonald confirmed her participation in Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox alongside her best friend Sue, expressing her excitement for the upcoming experience.
