Taking to Instagram on Thursday 10 February, Sizwe Alakine shared that he secured a record deal with Warner Music South Africa.
Speaking to Music in Africa, Sizwe Alakine said he had been searching for the best deal for him and his legacy for the past five years.
“After all that I’ve done independently, I needed to work with a company that could do more than I could for myself,” he added.
Warner Music South Africa creative lead, Garth Brown said the vocalist had proven himself as a true artist who is “able to actively capture audiences”.
“His ability to effortlessly transition between genres is what the genetic fibre of legends are made of and we are honoured to be a part of his story,” added Brown.
Reason aka Sizwe Alakine hit South Africa’s amapiano radar in July 2021 through a collaboration with star producer DJ Maphorisa titled, Khanda Shisa.
Almost six months after his electric debut, Alakine has secured a record deal with Warner Music South Africa.
Having been in the music industry for more than 10 years, the talented musician told Music in Africa that he had been looking for a deal that was best for him and his legacy.
