A 36-year-old man from West London, currently serving time at HMP Wandsworth was filmed allegedly engaging in sexual activities with a female prison guard. This scandal has outraged his victims, who argue that this is far from the “hard time” they expected him to serve.
Shocking Allegations Surface
The video shows Weirich, a prolific burglar, appearing to have sex with prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, using a smuggled phone. Despite being placed in segregation, Weirich is not facing further punishment, nor is he under police investigation. This has left his victims feeling that justice is not being served. One victim, who was burgled by Weirich in January, expressed disbelief, stating, “This is not what we thought it meant to get hard time in prison.”
Victims Speak Out
One of Weirich’s victims, who had building works done at her home when he broke in and stole some drills, was incredulous about the leniency. She remarked, “I don’t think he’s the sharpest tool in the box.” Another victim, whose bike was stolen, commented on Weirich’s foolishness, “He’s definitely not the smartest cookie if he was just targeting all the people on his doorstep.”
Personal Impact and Health Concerns
The scandal has also deeply affected Weirich’s pregnant partner, who was hospitalized due to stress and fears of premature labor. A source close to her shared, “This stupid video has affected her health. She fears it will bring on premature labor.”
Weirich’s Criminal History
Weirich’s criminal activities have been extensive. He was jailed for four and a half years on June 7 for burglary and theft. His past includes dangerous driving, assaulting a police officer, and driving without a license or insurance. Photographs on his Instagram show him with the same tattoo as the man in the alleged video.
Guard Faces Serious Charges
Meanwhile, Linda De Sousa Abreu, the prison guard involved, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court charged with misconduct in public office. She was arrested at Heathrow Airport while attempting to fly to Madrid. Her Portuguese passport was seized, and she was granted conditional bail. De Sousa Abreu is forbidden from entering any UK port and must be electronically monitored at night.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
De Sousa Abreu will have a plea and case management hearing on July 29 at Isleworth Crown Court. She must remain at her South West London address and surrender all travel documents to the police.
