A lorry driver faced a perilous situation when his vehicle became trapped in floodwater, prompting new flood alerts across the UK.
The incident unfolded at 6:40 am on the A1101 in Welney, Cambridgeshire, and Norfolk border, following heavy rainfall in the area.
Emergency Response and Worsening Conditions
Firefighters from Methwold, King’s Lynn, Outwell, and Littleport rushed to the scene as the River Delph overflowed, flooding the road and surrounding fields.
The Environment Agency issued 32 flood warnings and 164 flood alerts across England, with the road submerged under 1 meter of water by 7 am.

The Met Office predicts more rain across the UK, especially heavy downpours on Thursday.
Further flooding is expected along the lower River Severn until Wednesday.
