Heartbreaking Tragedy Strikes as Father Allegedly Murders Sons and Takes His Own Life
In a deeply distressing incident, two young children were allegedly brutally murdered with a machete by their own father before he took his own life in Limpopo, South Africa.

Discovery of the Deceased Children
The lifeless bodies of the two victims, identified as Asakundwi Mbulaheni (7) and Uhone Mbulaheni (4), were discovered in the bushes on a fateful Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023. The tragic discovery unfolded in Mapakophele village, located in the Mphephu region of Limpopo.
Father’s Apparent Suicide
The alleged perpetrator, a 41-year-old man named Thilivhali Mbulaheni, was found hanging by his neck from a tree near the scene.
Nearby, the two young boys lay with open wounds on their bodies, indicating a horrific and tragic end to their lives.
Family Separation and Grim Message
Reports indicate that the mother of the children lived in Mapakophele Village, while the father resided in Tshituni Village with one of the boys.
The parents had separated, and the father had taken the other son during a heritage long weekend.
In a chilling twist, the father had sent a message to the mother, expressing his intent to take his own life and the lives of their sons.
Community Response and Police Intervention
Community members made the grim discovery and promptly alerted the authorities. Limpopo police were called to the scene at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found the father’s lifeless body hanging from a tree, with the two young boys nearby.
A machete, believed to be the murder weapon, was also confiscated. Police have initiated investigations, opening two counts of murder and an inquest docket.
Motives Under Scrutiny, Domestic Violence Suspected
