Betta Edu, the Minister in charge, is facing accusations of approving the disbursement of N585,198,500.00 into a personal account.
The controversy centers around a letter purportedly signed by Edu, instructing the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) to transfer the sum to the account of Oniyelu Bridget as a grant for vulnerable groups in four states.
However, the AGF clarified that although her office received the request, no action was taken.

In response to the allegations, the 37-year-old Edu, the youngest minister in the President’s cabinet, vehemently denied any involvement in embezzlement.
