In February 2021, Tiger Woods faced a life-changing moment when he was involved in a devastating car crash.
This severe accident not only put his life at risk but also cast doubt on his future in golf.
The incident occurred early on February 23, 2021.
Woods was heading from the luxurious Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes to the Rolling Hills Country Club, where he was scheduled to film for GolfTV.
He was driving a rented Genesis GV80 and had just left the resort around 7 a.m.
According to Oliver Konteh, a crew member from the TV show *Grown-ish*, Woods sped out of the parking lot, nearly colliding with another vehicle.
Shortly after, a front door camera captured him driving at a normal speed along Hawthorne Boulevard, only to lose control moments later.
The car veered off the road, smashed through a sign, and rolled several hundred feet.
The crash was so severe that authorities said he was “lucky to survive.”
The Recovery and Current Update
Fast forward to now, Woods has made a remarkable comeback.
Despite the severity of his injuries, he is back on the golf course.
Recently, a photo surfaced of Woods without a leg sleeve, revealing the substantial scar on his right leg—a visible reminder of the crash.
This image was shared on the Blake Bunders Golf Instagram page, showing Woods standing on the grass at Oakland Hills, sporting shorts that exposed his scar.
Woods has been competing again, though his recent performances have not yet brought him back to his former glory.
He participated in The Open, the US Open, and the PGA Championship this year but didn’t make significant headlines.
His last major win was in 2019 when he clinched The Masters title.
Even with these challenges, Woods’ return to the sport is nothing short of inspirational.
