As they get ready to play their final shows on a European tour, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has disclosed that the band’s upcoming album has been canceled.
The US rock band was back in top form at the Reading and Leeds festival last weekend, despite receiving jeers at a show in Georgia for allowing a Russian fan to play drums for one song.
Flowers and company performed a set that was heavy on greatest hits and featured the brand-new song Your Side of Town, but the long-anticipated follow-up parent album will no longer be made available.
Flowers told The Times, “Halfway through recording, I realized, ‘I can’t do this.'”
“This kind of record isn’t… This, I believe, will be the… You won’t likely see us producing music like this again, in my opinion.

When will The Killers perform in Northern and Irish Ireland?
The Killers’ summer tour of Europe will come to an end on September 1 at Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and on September 3 at Electric Picnic in Stradbally, Ireland.
This will happen before an autumn and winter tour of the US. Following the release of Imploding The Mirage in 2020 and Pressure Machine in 2021, The Killers released this album.

The Killers — still recording music?
The Killers released the stand-alone single Boy last year, followed a few days later by the synth-heavy new tune Your Side of Town. Flowers told The Times that he had lost motivation for a wider project, therefore this single will also be released as a standalone.
“I’m in a crisis right now. The Killers are who I am, and our songs pack the house, but I’m happier writing songs like Pressure Machine,” he remarked of the record, which was a more introspective release than stadium rock fans may anticipate.
“I discovered a strong side of myself while writing it. I finally found the man I was seeking for! Although I’m not 20, I’m just as proud of [debut album] Hot Fuss as you can be of something you did when you were 20. So, as I consider the next stage of my life, I think, “I’m a different person now, it’ll be difficult to go back.”
How did The Killers fare in Georgia?
After receiving jeers in Georgia, The Killers apologize.
At the concert on August 15, frontman Brandon Flowers referred to the audience as “brothers and sisters” and invited a Russian fan to perform a song with the band in front of the Georgian crowd.
He asked, “You okay with a Russian coming up here? We don’t know the manners of this land.” He was a Russian. The crowd shouted “no,” indicating that they were not fine.
Flowers then said, “So I’m not your brother? Due of my American citizenship, am I not your brother?
Being in this band has taught us to value how it brings people together, among other things.I want to rejoice with all of you tonight, and I don’t want it to get ugly.
“I see you as my brothers and sisters.”
The Killers issued an apology on their social media after the uncomfortable video went viral.
The group claimed, “It was never our intention to offend anyone!” and cited a long-standing custom of letting individuals play the drums.
We acknowledge that a statement intended to imply that every member of the Killers’ audience and followers are “brothers and sisters” may have been misinterpreted, the statement continued.
What tunes are The Killers doing live?
The Killers broke with tradition by starting their performance with Mr. Brightside at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on Tuesday, August 29. Additionally, they welcomed Johnny Marr to the stage to sing This Charming Man by The Smiths, as they had done when they shared the stage at Glastonbury in 2019. When You Were Young served as the band’s encore, and Marr stayed on.
This was the complete setlist, but it does not accurately reflect the entire tour.
