Two people were stabbed inside an In-N-Out burger in California’s Bay Area Friday night after a fight broke out following an NFL preseason game.
Shocking video shows the moment fans in San Francisco 49ers’ jerseys faced were engaged in a brawl with fans wearing Las Vegas Raiders’ jerseys.
Location and Circumstances
The violent interaction happened just a mile and a half from Levi’s Stadium where the 49ers faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers.
At least one person in a black top can be seen wielding a sharp object at a person lying on the ground as another punches the shirtless man.
Two arrests have been made although video shows numerous additional people involved and police have stated as many as 10 are being sought.
Police Response and Victims’ Condition
According to a post made by the Santa Clara Police Department, the fight began around 11.12pm at the In-N-Out in the 3000 block of Mission College Boulevard.
Upon arrival, police detained multiple suspects and paramedics rushed the two victims with stab wounds to a local hospital.
The suspect who used the sharp object to wound the victims has not been arrested.
Chaos and Interventions
The shocking video of the interaction shows a group of three men at one point ganging up on another person who is lying on the ground.
One of the three men is seen with a knife or shiv, slashing the shirtless victim repeatedly.
Throughout the video, two women – one in a black top and the other in a 49ers jersey – attempt to break up the fight and stop the men from attacking the victim.
The video eventually ends with another man in a red San Francisco 49ers jersey rushing in and pushing the three men away.
Uncertainty and Aftermath
The condition of the two stab wound victims is unknown at this time.
It’s unclear what caused the fight to break out in the first place, and police have not released the names of anyone involved.
As police continue to search for the responsible parties, officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Pattern of Violence
The shocking In-N-Out fight comes just one week after a violent brawl broke out in the stands of Levi Stadium between 49ers fans.
One supporter was left bloodied and dazed after being punched to the floor as around a dozen fans brawled in the stands at Levi’s Stadium.
The fight happened during the 49ers’ game versus the Denver Broncos, which the 49ers won 21-20.
Response and Consequences
A small number of security staff tried in vain to halt the violence, which saw punches traded in the gangways and between seats.
Several women attempted to plead with those fighting to stop, while one young supporter was ushered to safety as two men clashed near his seat.
One of those men was knocked to the floor, but his attacker continued throwing punches until security staff intervened.
The incidents have raised concerns about fan behavior and security measures during games.
Commentary
The incidents of violence surrounding sporting events raise questions about the intensity of fan rivalries and the need for improved security measures within stadiums.
While the excitement of games can foster a passionate atmosphere, such altercations threaten the safety of attendees and tarnish the experience for fans.
These incidents also highlight the need for addressing the underlying causes of such confrontations, and for fans to remember that sports events should remain a space of camaraderie rather than conflict.
