Sky Brown, the young skateboarder who made history as Great Britain’s youngest Olympic medalist, is facing a setback just days before the women’s park skateboarding event.

At just 13, she won bronze in Tokyo in 2021, and now, at 16, she’s hoping to recover in time to compete.

Sky dislocated her shoulder on Sunday, right before heading to Paris for the upcoming Olympics.

Despite this injury, she’s determined to be ready for the event next Tuesday at La Concorde.

The team’s doctors and physiotherapists are working hard to help her recover.

This isn’t Sky’s first challenge.

Earlier this year, she was recovering from a knee injury she sustained during a film shoot in April. Despite missing the first Olympic qualifier due to the injury, she made a strong comeback, finishing second in the women’s park event at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest to secure her place in Paris.

Resilience and Excitement

Sky has always bounced back stronger from injuries.

She reflected on this to NBC, saying, “Every injury I’ve had, I’ve come back stronger. It really puts a fire in my heart – it happens, it is part of life.”

As the 2023 World Skateboarding Champion and a major contender for gold, Sky’s excitement for the Olympics is palpable. She recently shared her journey on Instagram with her 1.3 million followers, expressing her gratitude and enthusiasm. “What a journey, I’m thankful for every moment along the way, everything and everyone and all the memories.
