Ngezana’s Ambition for a Long European Career
Siyabonga Ngezana, former Kaizer Chiefs defender and now a player for FCSB, has revealed his plans for longevity in a European league.
He expressed his ambition to remain abroad for a significant period and believes that leaving Chiefs to join FCSB in Romania will open doors for his career.
Expectations for National Team Call-ups
Ngezana is also hopeful that his move to Europe will increase his chances of receiving more call-ups to the South African national team, Bafana Bafana.
While many South African players tend to return to the domestic league after one or two seasons overseas, Ngezana aims to break that trend.
Ngezana’s Move to FCSB and Career Growth
Two weeks ago, Kaizer Chiefs announced Ngezana’s move to FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharesti, for a reported fee of R12 million.
As he joins his new teammates for pre-season training in the Netherlands, Ngezana is set to feature for FCSB in the upcoming UEFA Conference League.
He sees this move as a significant opportunity for personal growth and aims to use it as a stepping stone to better opportunities in the future.
Ngezana also has his sights set on breaking into the Bafana Bafana team.
Official Unveiling by FCSB in Romania
Ngezana was officially unveiled by FCSB in Romania after successfully resolving paperwork-related issues that initially delayed his departure from the country.
His new club confirmed that he will wear the number 30 jersey, the same number he wore during his time at Kaizer Chiefs.
Continued Learning and Grasping Opportunities
Playing in Europe presents numerous opportunities for growth and development, according to Ngezana.
He emphasized the importance of being open to learning and remaining aware that one never knows who might be watching.
Ngezana aims to make the most of his time abroad and maximize the potential opportunities that come his way.
