Seth Rogen captured a lot of attention during the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
Fans couldn’t help but joke about his seemingly dazed look while watching the women’s gymnastics individual all-around competition.
The 42-year-old actor, known for his role in *Knocked Up*, appeared lost in thought as he watched Simone Biles perform.
Sporting a blue baseball cap, a casual shirt, and his trademark glasses, Rogen’s expression was anything but animated.
His detached demeanor quickly sparked a flurry of reactions online.
One fan quipped, “Seth Rogen is high as a kite at these Olympics! He’s waiting for Mary Lou Retton to do her vault.”
Others added comments like, “There’s no way Seth Rogen knows he’s in Paris,” and “Did the edible hit @Sethrogen?” One user even said, “Best moment of the broadcast is when they cut to Seth Rogen looking high af and Laurie Hernandez starts to cry because she’s so happy he’s there.”
Rogen has been open about his cannabis use in the past.
During a 2021 interview on Steven Bartlett’s *The Diary of a CEO* podcast, he admitted, “Yeah, for sure.
I smoke weed all day, so I would imagine it would be worse if I didn’t.”
When asked if he meant “all day, every day,” he confirmed, “Yes, I smoke weed all day, every single day, since I was 20 years old maybe. And I’ve been very productive in that time.”
He explained that marijuana makes his life more comfortable and easier to navigate, likening it to performing daily activities without the usual conveniences.
“It only makes my journey through this life more comfortable, more palatable,” he said, adding that going without it would be a “pain in the a**.”
A Shift Away from Alcohol
Rogen also shared insights into his past relationship with alcohol.
He revealed that from ages 13 to 23, he drank frequently but began to question why he was consuming so much.
He noted, “I realized I had been lied to about alcohol and that it held a place in society for the wrong reasons.”
He discussed his shift towards using other substances, like MDMA and mushrooms, which he found more enjoyable and less damaging.
“Once I grew more comfortable with doing other drugs that were more stigmatized and not worrying about damage in terms of anyone’s perceptions of me, I realized I just need to be comfortable doing a quarter tab of molly at this party and not drinking and having a much better time,” he said.
He concluded, “You would be better off doing a hit of acid than drinking.”
