Earlier this month, Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden tied the knot in a secret ceremony.
The couple, who have been together for six years, chose an intimate setting at the Edinburgh Registrar’s Office, with only their closest friends and family present.
The four-time Academy Award nominee, 30, and the Scottish actor, 34, first met in 2018 while filming *Mary Queen Of Scots*, where Ronan played the titular role and Lowden portrayed Lord Darnley, her character’s husband.
They officially started dating in December 2018.
Despite their high-profile careers, Saoirse and Jack have kept their relationship mostly out of the spotlight.
They’ve often denied rumors about their romance, choosing to keep their personal lives private.
In a 2019 interview with *The Telegraph*, Ronan dismissed questions about her relationship status, simply responding “No” when asked if she was dating Lowden.
Jack, on the other hand, also remained tight-lipped, telling *ES Magazine* that he didn’t like discussing that aspect of his life.
A Public Appearance at Glastonbury
The couple made a rare public appearance together earlier this summer at the Glastonbury Music Festival in England.
Jack shared a sweet Instagram photo of the two, where they were seen standing arm-in-arm, enjoying a performance.
This public display of affection was a rare glimpse into their otherwise private relationship.
Jack Lowden’s Journey to Stardom
Jack Lowden’s path to fame wasn’t straightforward.
He initially dreamed of becoming a footballer and attended stage school in Edinburgh as a teenager.
However, after realizing that a career in football wasn’t in the cards, he turned to acting.
His big break came in 2016 with a role in *War and Peace*.
Since then, he’s become a household name, starring alongside Gary Oldman in the Apple TV+ drama *Slow Horses* and, of course, meeting Saoirse Ronan on the set of *Mary Queen Of Scots*.
