Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially sanctioned the appointment of Dr. Babatunde Ajayi as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA). This significant decision was disclosed through a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Gboyega Akosile.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi’s Background

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He is recognized as a distinguished medical practitioner, a global health consultant, and a seasoned administrator.

Prior to this appointment, he had previously served as a Special Assistant to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health.

Dr. Ajayi’s leadership has been instrumental in various projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing health outcomes in Lagos State.

Transition in Leadership

The incoming General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, is set to succeed Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, an accomplished administrator and environmental activist. Dr. Fasawe has taken on a higher responsibility at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), leading to the need for new leadership within LASEPA.

Legal Action Against 10 POTS Night Club Employees

In a separate development, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has pledged to initiate legal action against eleven employees of 10 POTS Night Club, situated at 2A Admiralty Way, Lekki.

These individuals had engaged in an altercation with state officials on duty.

According to Kunle Adeshina, the Director of Public Affairs, the club staff forcibly broke the seal placed on the premises by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA).

This action was taken in response to noise pollution concerns.

Legal Consequences

Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab has affirmed his commitment to prosecuting the eleven employees (comprising four males and seven females) of the night club.

They are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, along with the property owner.

This legal action serves as a stern warning to those who may contemplate unlawful actions of this nature, underscoring the consequences of such behavior.
