Russia says “lay down your weapons”, more on the way

On Saturday morning, Russian forces were getting closer and closer to the Kyiv city centre.
The Ukrainian military says it has killed over 3 500 invading Russian soldiers and 102 Russian tanks. Eight helicopters and over 500 armoured vehicles have also allegedly been shot down by Ukraine.
15 artillery systems and 14 Russian planes have been destroyed on top of that.
During a televised address, Putin once again called for the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms. Putin insists that he will not hold any further diplomatic talks with the country unless this is done.
Ukrainians have no interest in giving up. Thousands of everyday citizens have since taken on arms from the government and are out patrolling the streets. At one point this week, the Ukrainian military was teaching civilians how to make Molotov cocktails.
The Russian government has been releasing some of its own statistics over the last several days.
The latest figure touted by Russia is its revelation that it has destroyed 8 Ukrainian naval vessels.
Several countries have now agreed to send weapons to Ukraine.
Reports suggest that missiles and other weapons will arrive in Ukraine shortly.
Over 28 countries are said to be sending arms.
This includes both the US and UK
