Russell Brand Faces Second Police Investigation into Sexual and Physical Abuse Allegations

Comedian Russell Brand, 48, is now under investigation by a second police force regarding allegations of sexual and physical abuse.

The Metropolitan Police had previously been looking into historic claims of sexual assault dating back to 2003, and now Thames Valley Police has initiated its own investigation.

New Investigation by Thames Valley Police

Thames Valley Police announced its investigation, stating that it is probing “information in relation to the harassment and stalking allegations” made by an unidentified woman.

According to police logs, the woman referred to Brand as a “sexual predator.”

Past History of Harassment Claims

The woman had lived near Russell Brand in 2015, initially forming a friendship. However, the relationship took a contentious turn, with both parties accusing each other of harassment.

The Thames Valley Police had previously examined her claims but had dismissed them.

Following the explosive exposé on Brand by Dispatches and The Times, the allegations are now being re-investigated.

Russell Brand’s Denial and More Accusers

Russell Brand vehemently denies all the allegations against him.

Since the documentary’s release, more women have come forward with stories of rape, physical assault, and sexual abuse. Thames Valley Police is now the second police force to investigate the actor.

Brand’s Statement and Ongoing Investigation

Brand, in response to the claims, stated that they were from a time when he was “promiscuous” and emphasized that all his relationships were consensual.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the woman had provided additional information related to “harassment and stalking allegations.”

They stated that an investigation would be conducted but refrained from commenting further due to the ongoing nature of the case.

Location and Background

Thames Valley Police’s jurisdiction includes Brand’s residence in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, where he lives with his family and operates his online video career.

Brand made headlines in the town after moving there in 2015 and purchasing The Crown pub in the nearby village of Pishill in 2020.

Controversy Surrounding Brand

Following the public exposure of the allegations, The Crown pub faced heightened security measures.

However, these measures were later deemed “unauthorized” by South Oxfordshire District Council, leading to their removal.
