Qatar announces 365 new confirmed cases of COVID-19
DOHA, 23rd February, 2022 – The Qatari Ministry of Public Health reported Wednesday 365 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, and recorded 573 recoveries from the virus bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 349,615, according to the Qatar News Agency.
In a statement, the MoPH said that 304 of the new confirmed cases are among community and 61 among travelers.
Also, the ministry recorded the two new deaths of a 61-year-old and a 70-year-old, who had chronic diseases and had received the necessary medical care.
The MoPH reported that 6,262,739 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the vaccination program, adding that 20,965 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.
The ministry added that 1,179,451 COVID-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date.
It explained that 87.
8 percent of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.
In a statement, the MoPH noted that there is clear evidence of the protective effects of the vaccines and the majority of patients being admitted to ICU with COVID-19 are either unvaccinated or had their second dose more than 6 months ago and have not received a booster dose.
