The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has shared his heartfelt condolences following the death of Carol Akinfeleye, the wife of esteemed Mass Communication professor Ralph Akinfeleye.
Carol, who held the title of Yeye Gbekonuyi of Idanre Kingdom in Ondo State, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, after battling an undisclosed illness.
She was 64 years old.
Having served as a retired school principal and Director of Education in Lagos State, Carol’s contributions to the field of education were highly regarded.
In his condolence message conveyed through his media aide, Tunde Rahman, Tinubu praised the impact Carol had made through her kindness, charitable acts, and dedication to her profession as a teacher and principal.
He urged Professor Ralph Akinfeleye to find solace in the remarkable legacy his wife had left behind.
Tinubu extended his sympathies to Professor Ralph Akinfeleye and the entire family, praying for God’s comfort and strength during this challenging time.
He expressed his wishes for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family and emphasized the irreplaceable loss they are facing.
Reports indicate that a commendation service for Carol Akinfeleye will be held on Thursday, June 8, at the All Saints Anglican Church in Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos.
The Christian wake is scheduled for Thursday, June 15, at the Durusomo Events Centre in Yaba, Odode Idanre.
The final burial ceremony will take place on June 16, 2023, in Carol’s hometown of Idanre, Ondo State.
