In an effort to put an end to the needless war on our shared home, which is a horrific global conflict, he continued, “it is necessary to stand with the victims of environmental and climate injustice.” I implore you all to labor and pray for it to once more be abundant with life.
Last week, Pope Francis revealed that he is working on a follow-up to Laudato Si, his environmental encyclical from 2015.
The pope claimed that by adding this additional writing, Laudato Si will be updated to address contemporary challenges.
On August 21, Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office, told CNA that “the pope is working on a letter updating Laudato Si’ with regard to the recent environmental crises.”
The second of Pope Francis’ three encyclicals to be released during his pontificate is titled Laudato Si. It became available in June 2015.
Human ecology is the focus of the encyclical, which is Latin for “Praise be to you,” a phrase first used by Pope Benedict XVI. The document discusses topics including preserving the environment, combating climate change, and defending human life and dignity.
