Lagos Police Responds to Delayed Investigation Report
The Lagos State Police Command has finally addressed concerns over the delayed release of investigation findings regarding the late Mohbad.
A pro-democracy group, Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), had strongly urged the police to make public the autopsy report, highlighting the extended silence as unjust to the community.
Demand for Transparency
During a press conference, TIB emphasized the necessity for transparency and urged the police to expedite their investigation.
They particularly stressed the need to address cyberbullying directed at Mohbad’s wife and the deceased child, Liam, affirming that severe consequences awaited perpetrators.
Police Clarification
In response to inquiries made by a PUNCH correspondent, the police spokesperson, Hundeyin, clarified the current situation.
He revealed that the police were yet to receive the pathologists’ report regarding Mohbad’s autopsy, indicating that speculation wouldn’t guide their investigation.
Awaiting Official Reports
Hundeyin reiterated that the police wouldn’t engage in conjecture, highlighting the significance of the pathologists’ report.
He emphasized the necessity of examining the content of the report to conclude their investigation, firmly stating that they could not operate on assumptions without official documentation.
