Police Seek to Identify Women from Pro-Palestinian Rally Amid Clashes

Introduction: Investigation at Pro-Palestinian Rally with Clashes

Following clashes that erupted at a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday, police are actively seeking to identify two women who attended the event.

The march, which initially began peacefully, took a turbulent turn in the evening, resulting in confrontations at Trafalgar Square. Thousands of demonstrators had marched from Portland Place to Whitehall.

The Hunt for Two Women: Black and Red Attire with Paraglider Images

Law enforcement authorities are eager to speak with two women who were present at the rally.

One was attired in black, and the other in red, and both were adorned with images of paragliders on their jackets.

This distinctive choice of attire is drawing attention due to the association with Hamas’s use of paragliders in a deadly assault on the south of Israel, which tragically claimed over 1,000 lives.

Met Police’s Appeal for Information

The Metropolitan Police have issued an appeal, urging these women or anyone who can identify them to come forward and assist the investigation.

They can reach out to officers via phone at 101 or contact @MetCC, referencing the case as 3077/15Oct.

Clashes and Arrests at the Rally

During the clashes that marred the rally, nine officers sustained injuries, and eight individuals were taken into custody.

The offenses for which these arrests were made include assault on emergency workers, setting off fireworks in a public place, and various public order offenses.

Acknowledgment and Support from Home Secretary

Home Secretary Suella Braverman expressed her gratitude to the police officers who worked diligently to manage the tens of thousands of protesters in challenging circumstances.

She acknowledged that numerous arrests resulted from incidents of disorder, violence, and hate that occurred during the event.

Additional Arrests and Ongoing Investigation

Apart from the arrests related to the clashes, seven more individuals were taken into custody throughout the day.

Four of these arrests were made for a breach of section 60AA of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, two for public order offenses, and one for criminal damage.

The police are also actively reviewing footage and other materials from the protest and its aftermath.

Upcoming Court Appearance for One Arrested Individual

A 67-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday is scheduled to appear in court next month.

He has been charged with intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm, or distress.

The investigation into the rally and the incidents surrounding it continues.
