…By Roland Peterson for TDPel Media. Alisa Bajraktarevic, a police officer with the Bronx Robbery Squad, may face trouble after reportedly trying to interfere with a drug squad investigation into her boyfriend.
The man was described as a “major drug dealer” and is known to the department. Officers intended to search his car and possibly make an arrest.
However, Bajraktarevic, who had been warned to stay away from the man, reportedly flashed her badge and attempted to disrupt the bust, causing chaos.
Narcotics detectives called for backup, and after the dust settled, they let the alleged drug dealer go but launched an Internal Affairs Bureau investigation into Bajraktarevic’s actions.
Bajraktarevic, who joined the NYPD in 2012 and previously worked in the Bronx’s 48th Precinct, has been moved to desk duty and had her police-issued pistol taken away pending an investigation.
According to sources, she had met the suspected drug dealer at her gym and entered a relationship with him despite warnings from colleagues. Bajraktarevic has declined to comment, simply stating that her boyfriend is not a drug dealer.
The alleged actions of police officer Alisa Bajraktarevic raise concerns about conflicts of interest and the ethical standards expected of law enforcement officers.
While it is understandable that personal relationships can develop between people, including police officers and those they encounter during their work, there must be boundaries that are not crossed.
The Internal Affairs Bureau’s investigation into Bajraktarevic’s conduct shows that the department takes such matters seriously. The consequences of officers violating ethical standards can be severe and include harm to ongoing investigations, loss of public trust, and even criminal charges.
Bajraktarevic’s Instagram and Reddit profiles reveal a devotion to bodybuilding and fitness, highlighting her interests outside of work. While this may be harmless, it is crucial to remember that police officers hold a position of public trust, and their actions can have far-reaching consequences.
Bajraktarevic’s alleged attempt to obstruct a drug squad investigation into her boyfriend raises questions about the boundaries between personal and professional relationships in law enforcement. It is a reminder that police officers are held to high standards of conduct and must maintain the public’s trust.
