However, notable absences from the camp, such as Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and others like William Troost-Ekong and Francis Uzoho, raise concerns about the team’s initial lineup for the tournament.
Injury Worries Impact Squad
Further complicating the situation, Wilfred Ndidi’s absence due to injury has led to his replacement by Alhassan Yusuf, while concerns loom over Kelechi Iheanacho’s fitness, potentially leading to Terem Moffi stepping in as a replacement.
Training Sessions and Preparation
The Super Eagles, according to an official post on their X account, are set to commence training sessions, commencing Wednesday evening, as they gear up for their opening Group A match against Equatorial Guinea on January 14.
AFCON 2023 Kick-Off and Duration
The AFCON 2023 tournament is slated to begin on January 13 and extend till February 11, 2024, marking a crucial period for the Nigerian team as they strive for success in the prestigious African football competition.
