Nasarawa State Governor Reappoints Muhammad Ubandoma-Aliyu as SSG, Announces Cabinet Aides

…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has reappointed Muhammad Ubandoma-Aliyu as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

This decision marks the governor’s initial round of appointments following his second-term inauguration.

Appointment of Cabinet Aides and Special Assistants

In addition to the SSG, Governor Sule appointed a total of twenty-three aides to his cabinet.

The official statement, released by the Permanent Secretary (Cabinet Affairs and Special Services) at the office of the SSG, Mohammad Iliyasu-Idde, confirmed the appointments.

Among those appointed were Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) Muhammad Abubakar-Muhammad for Government House, Abubakar Murtala-Mohammed for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Imran Jibrin for Humanitarian Affairs, Yusuf Maianguwa for the Abuja Liaison Office, Saphia Muhammed for Meda, and David Maiyaki for the State Assembly Liaison.

Additionally, the governor appointed seventeen other Special Assistants.

Allegations Surrounding the Next CBN Governor

A spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, has made allegations concerning the appointment of the next Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Bwala claimed that a former governor is actively pushing to assume the position, warning that such an appointment would lead to significant scandals under the Bola Tinubu administration.

Criteria for the New CBN Governor

Bwala outlined the criteria he believes should be considered for the selection of the next CBN Governor under the Tinubu government.

According to him, the appointee must not be a member of any political party, have a family member affiliated with any political party, or be under investigation or prosecution by any law enforcement agency.

Bwala further specified that the individual should not own or be associated with any bank or financial institution, nor have executed contracts or served as a consultant for such entities.

Lastly, the candidate must not have any outstanding debt liability with any bank or financial institution.
