The child reportedly fell victim to physical abuse, resulting in her passing away on May 24.

Arrest Made in Response to Community Concerns

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), preliminary information suggests that the young girl was living with her stepmother and biological father, both of whom are alleged to have subjected her to abuse.

Members of the community residing near the family’s residence became aware of the distressing circumstances surrounding the victim.

Serious Injuries Prompt Intervention

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, stated that community members discovered the child had suffered severe injuries as a result of physical assault.

The concerned individuals sought medical assistance and promptly arranged for an ambulance to transport the victim to the nearest hospital.

Unfortunately, despite efforts to save her, the child succumbed to her injuries.

Murder Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement authorities are conducting an investigation into the case, treating it as murder and charging the couple with two counts of contravening the immigration act.
