A dramatic incident unfolded as 21-year-old Kya Evans, a drug dealer from Careau in Wales, crashed into a van while riding his suron bike illegally.

The collision, captured in dramatic footage shared by the police, showed Evans falling off his bike and hitting the ground on October 15. The crash occurred just as an off-duty officer, en route to work, intervened, leading to Evans’ subsequent arrest.

Arrest and Discovery of Illegal Possessions

Upon apprehending Evans, the officer discovered a significant cache of illegal substances – crack and heroin, along with a considerable sum of cash and two mobile phones in his possession.

Additionally, during the arrest, another individual was taken into custody for affray after menacingly threatening physical assault on the officer while brandishing weapons.

Legal Proceedings and Sentencing

Following the arrest, Evans pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to supply crack and heroin at Cardiff Crown Court on December 11.

He received a three-year prison sentence for his involvement in the illegal drug trade. Detective Inspector Tim Jones praised the officer’s actions, emphasizing their commitment to combating county lines drug dealing.

The success of the arrest was also attributed to the support of members of the public present at the scene, particularly a group of cyclists who provided crucial video evidence witnessing the incident.
