In an unsettling turn of events in Miami, a recent divorcee is making headlines for a bizarre and violent confrontation.
Andrew Cobb, 54, a wealthy Miami resident, allegedly left a female triathlete severely injured after he threw a water bottle at her while running in a bike lane.
On July 7, 2024, at around 7:45 a.m., Maria Galleguillo, 56, was cycling along Crandon Boulevard in Key Biscayne when Cobb, who was jogging in the bike lane, suddenly hurled a water bottle at her face.
This shocking attack caused her to fall off her bike, resulting in serious injuries.
Cobb reportedly told her after the incident, “You have to share the road. I’ve been hit by you guys before.”
The Aftermath
The incident, captured in disturbing images, shows Galleguillo bleeding on the ground, while Cobb was seen fleeing the scene as onlookers called the police.
Before law enforcement arrived, Cobb managed to escape.
Galleguillo recounted to Local 10, “As more cyclists were coming together and said ‘police,’ the guy left.”
Galleguillo’s Response
Galleguillo, who described the attack as “malicious,” pointed out that Cobb was in the wrong by running in a designated bike lane.
She later shared photos of her injuries and a video of herself using a walker post-surgery.
Despite Cobb’s apparent lack of remorse, she remains hospitalized with significant injuries including bruises, cuts, and a new scar on her knee.
Cobb’s Background
Cobb, who recently divorced his ex-wife Ingrid and bought a luxury condo in Miami, faces serious legal trouble.
His new condo, valued at $430,000, boasts impressive amenities, including a pool, jacuzzi, and gym.
Public records show that Cobb filed for divorce from Ingrid in July 2023, and the couple shares an 18-year-old daughter.
Cobb’s most recent employment was with Xero Solar, a California-based solar energy company.
In contrast, Ingrid, a Vice President and Human Resources Executive, owns a $1.9 million home in Manhattan Beach, California.
