Lily Allen recently shared a hilarious throwback on her podcast *Miss Me?* with Miquita Oliver, recounting a night of mischief with Lindsay Lohan that led to them getting matching tattoos.
The tattoos, however, turned out to be nearly identical to one of Rihanna’s inkings. Lily, now 39, labeled the stunt as the “beggiest” thing she’s ever done.
The story dates back to 2009 when she and Lindsay, then 38, managed to sneak out of Lily’s luxury hotel in LA by climbing over a wall.
Lily recalled how they managed to escape from the security stationed outside her room at the Chateau Marmont hotel. “Lindsay knew the ropes,” Lily explained, describing how Lindsay led the way through the back of the hotel.
They ended up at Shamrock Tattoo Parlour on Sunset Boulevard, where they got matching “Shh” tattoos on their fingers.
Lily thought it was a cool idea—until she woke up the next day to find a headline on Perez Hilton about their tattoos being similar to Rihanna’s.
Tattoo Regrets and Reconnection
Reflecting on the situation, Lily admitted that copying Rihanna was not her proudest moment.
She described the experience as her attempt to “beg” for attention from Rihanna by getting the same tattoos.
Last year, Lily expressed her frustration about the tattoos in an interview, revealing that Lindsay had pitched the idea as something original.
Lily has since had her tattoo altered to feature her birth year, 1985. Although she and Lindsay haven’t talked much about it, Lindsay has recently reached out, and Lily is open to rekindling their friendship.
James Corden’s Misunderstood Affection
Lily also touched on her past interactions with James Corden, who she playfully described as a “beg friend.”
James, who met Lily during an appearance on her show *Lily Allen and Friends* back in 2008, seemed to misinterpret their friendly hangouts as something more. In his 2011 memoir, James wrote about his awkward realization that his feelings weren’t reciprocated.
Lily recounted that, despite James’s flirtatious behavior, she never felt the same way and felt pressured to maintain a positive image.
A Hazy Past and Misread Signals
Lily’s encounter with James Corden was marked by some confusion and miscommunication.
James had described their time together as involving other people and never being a proper date.
He later admitted to feeling embarrassed about how he had misread the situation. Lily mentioned that she felt unable to shut down James’s advances at the time without being labeled cold or snobbish.
Despite the awkwardness, she seems to have moved past it, joking that neither of them are “begging” anymore.
