LASRO VISITS LASEMA, LWC TO MONITOR STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION

As part of efforts to monitor the implementation of the Lagos Resilience Strategy (LRS), officials of the Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO) have visited the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) to evaluate the progress of the implementation process.
During the visit to LASEMA, the Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer, Dr. Folayinka Dania, said the theme of the Lagos Resilience Strategy tagged – “Strengthening the State’s Emergency Response System” – was designed to further improve the coordination of emergency response to be championed by LASEMA.
She emphasised that enhanced collaborative re-engineering is essential to better manage and improve emergency situation handling by first responders.
Dr. Dania averred that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Lagos State Ambulance Service and Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency (LNSA) would be engaged and briefed to further improve emergency response capacity in the State. Speaking at the LWC Headquarters about the LASRO initiative for the Corporation themed: “Expand and Protect Water Sources to Improve Lagos Water Supply”, the CRO maintained that the issue of ageing and non-functional water infrastructure, as well as the issue of limited access to public water across the State, is being addressed.
She restated the commitment to driving resilience in the State by ensuring people’s needs for regular water supply are met and surpassed.
