…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Labour Party House of Representatives member, Amobi Ogah, has encouraged Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, and his supporters, referred to as the ‘Obidents,’ to back the present government.
In an interview with Channels TV, Ogah emphasized the importance of showing good sportsmanship and support to the winners of elections, stating that power comes from God and once someone has been elected, politicians must unite and demonstrate their support for the elected individual.

Ogah expressed his belief that politicians should support the winner of an election until the court or God intervenes.
He emphasized the significance of prioritizing the interests of Nigeria above personal agendas, asserting that the nation’s welfare should take precedence.
Ogah emphasized that being involved in politics means not losing hope and understanding that victories can come in the future.
He called for respect towards the institution that brings representatives into power and urged individuals to give their unwavering support to those in authority.

Amidst his recent statement, it is worth noting that Amobi Ogah faced criticism on social media for praising President Tinubu while his party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was still in court challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.
The meeting between Ogah and other House of Representatives members-elect with the President occurred before their inauguration.
