Ajaka’s Response to Attack
Murtala Ajaka, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the November 11, 2023 election in Kogi State, has issued a statement in reaction to the attack on the residence of the Director-General of the SDP Campaign Council, Ibrahim Jibrin.
Claim of Being the Target
In his statement, Ajaka claimed that he was the primary target of the attack that took place in Anyigba, Kogi State.
Fatal Attack on Jibrin’s House
Reports had earlier indicated that the attack on Jibrin’s house resulted in the tragic deaths of a policeman and four other individuals.
Allegations of Assassination Plans
The SDP governorship candidate raised serious allegations, asserting that the thugs who invaded Jibrin’s residence had intentions to assassinate him.

Ajaka did not shy away from leveling accusations against the incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello. He suggested that Bello seeks to impose a successor on the people of the North Central state.

Highlighting the sentiment among the people of Kogi State, Ajaka emphasized that they desire change in the state’s leadership. He also hinted at a winning formula but chose not to disclose it, leaving it for the election day, November 11.

Concluding his remarks, Ajaka called for an end to attacks on the people of Kogi State, asserting that if Yahaya Bello and his associates believe in their strength, they should refrain from such actions.
