…By Judah Olanisebee for TDPel Media. TV presenter and Escape to the Country host, Jonnie Irwin, who is battling terminal cancer, is undertaking a massive house renovation project to convert a property for his wife and three boys in the north east, near his wife’s family.
However, the project encountered a problem, according to Irwin’s latest Instagram post.
He revealed that after the completion of the façade, they were all disappointed with the result as the bubbles of welding underneath were visible.
But after trying out a different approach with a new material and applying aluminum, he was impressed with the results.
Fans of the show expressed their support for Irwin and commended his decision to make sure that everything was perfect.
One user who had done a renovation herself commented, “I’ve just done a biggish renovation, and I’ve seen products online which once ordered and in place absolutely do not work, or live up to what was promised online.
I’m so glad you’ve got your facia sorted.” Another fan praised the tradesmen, saying, “It makes such a difference when you have good tradesmen.
Well done to them x.”
Despite being diagnosed with cancer of the brain after it spread to his lungs, the 49-year-old presenter has defied doctors’ predictions, battling the disease with medical treatment like hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Irwin has also reorganized his diet to ‘starve’ the cancer.
The renovation of the family’s new home holds significant importance to the TV presenter, as it is intended to be a place for his wife and children to live in the future, should the worst happen.
In light of this, Irwin’s determination to ensure that everything is perfect for his family is touching and admirable.
