Grant Overview and Eligibility Criteria
The 2024 African Women Entrepreneurs Program-Reimagined, organized by the USADF in collaboration with the US Department of State Africa Bureau, presents an opportunity for eligible applicants in select countries.
Specifically, this grant cycle welcomes applications exclusively from Namibia, Mauritania, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia.
Qualification Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet stringent criteria.
First and foremost, the enterprise must be woman-owned and entirely African-owned and managed.
The business should have legal registration and operational history within the applicant’s country for a minimum of three years.
Additionally, the enterprise must demonstrate basic functional management, financial controls for at least 3 years, and a banking track record of no less than 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria Breakdown
The key eligibility criteria include:
- Over 50% ownership and management by women.
- Complete African ownership (100%).
- Operational and legal existence for a minimum of three years.
- Location and operation within a designated USADF program country.
- Approval confirmation from UEI (Unconditional Eligibility Indicator).
- Detailed proposal outlining the allocation of grant funds.
- Exclusion of business owners who are government employees.
- Requirement for the entity to be income-generating and not for profit.

Applicants are mandated to provide crucial documentation, including proof of ownership or shareholder information, registration details, and confirmation of UEI approval from SAM.gov.
