Anna Redman, a former Bachelor contestant and influencer, recently found herself in hot water after sharing her outfit inspiration for a visit to Auschwitz on Instagram.
The 28-year-old posted a detailed packing list for her trip to Poland, which included specific outfits for each day of her itinerary.
One of those days included a visit to Auschwitz, the largest and deadliest concentration camp from World War II, where an estimated 1.1 million people perished.
For her Auschwitz visit, Redman planned to wear a black dress paired with sneakers.
She captioned the photo of her outfit with, “the best packing ‘hack.’
Is somebody going to match my freak?” This post showed her intent to visit Auschwitz after spending a day in Krakow.
She even accessorized with a bag slung over her right shoulder.
Critics quickly took to Instagram and Reddit to express their disapproval.
One commenter remarked, “You know what’s embarrassing? How tone deaf you are to post an Auschwitz outfit on your stories.”
Another user criticized, “This is tone deaf as h**l and implies she’s going to be taking ‘aesthetic’ photos at a death camp where over 1 million people were murdered. Girl. Goodbye.
This is f****d up.” The backlash didn’t stop there, with others calling her post “f*****g gross” and “one of the most spiritually bankrupt things I’ve seen in a LONG time.”
The Aftermath
After the outcry, Redman, who boasts 114,000 followers, deleted the story but has yet to apologize for the insensitive post.
The controversy has left many questioning her judgment and respect for historical tragedies.
Context on Anna Redman
Redman is no stranger to the public eye.
She was a contestant on season 25 of The Bachelor, featuring Matt James, the first Black male lead in the show’s history.
Her time on the show ended after accusations of unnecessarily persecuting other contestants, including spreading rumors about fellow contestant Brittany Galvin being an escort in Chicago.
Currently, Redman is dating Chris Bukowski, another Bachelor Nation member and a first-generation Polish American.
