In a tragic incident in Ogun State, Philip Fiama, a shuttle bus driver residing at Sobande Close, Alagbole, Ajuwon, was fatally stabbed by his neighbour, Ikem Emmanuel.
The confrontation, fueled by allegations of infidelity, occurred on Sunday, Jan. 7, around 6.30pm.
Conflict Erupts Over Adultery Allegation:
Philip Fiama, originally from Adamawa State, had accused Ikem Emmanuel of engaging in a romantic relationship with his wife.
The simmering tension between the two neighbours escalated into a violent altercation, ultimately leading to Fiama’s untimely demise.
Fatal Confrontation and Escape:
During the heated dispute, Ikem Emmanuel reportedly stabbed Philip Fiama to death. Tragically, Fiama succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a hospital. Emmanuel, seizing the opportunity, managed to flee the scene.
Police Confirmation and Investigation:
SP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident.
According to Odutola, the landlord of Sobande Close reported the incident to the police, detailing the accusation, fight, and fatal stabbing.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for a thorough and discreet investigation.
Manhunt for the Fleeing Suspect:
As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement is actively pursuing Ikem Emmanuel, who fled to an unknown destination following the fatal altercation.
The police are committed to bringing the suspect to justice and ensuring a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
