The survey encompassed citizens from 146 nations and was primarily based on three-year average data spanning from 2020 to 2022. Various factors, including the quality and quantity of life, social support, and personal freedom, were evaluated to assign a rating ranging from 0 to 10 to each nation. Finland secured a final score of 7.804, placing it at the forefront of contentment, followed closely by Denmark (7.586) and Iceland (7.530).
This marks the sixth consecutive year in which Finland has secured the top position in the World Happiness Report. The rankings for the year 2023 were as follows:

- Israel (7.473)
- Netherlands (7.403)
- Sweden (7.395)

Conversely, Afghanistan obtained the lowest score of 1.859, representing the least happy country in the assessment.
