…By Alan Peterson for TDPel Media. A cat named Flash, who is nine years old, is still searching for a loving home after spending more than 100 days at a rescue center.
Despite his time at the center, Flash has been consistently overlooked by potential adopters due to his grumpy appearance.
Originally discovered as a stray, Flash has faced difficulty finding new owners due to his age and seemingly glum demeanor.
It is believed that Flash had been living on the streets for approximately seven years, surviving with the help of locals who provided him with food after his previous owner left the country.
The staff at the Blue Cross’ rehoming center in Burford, Oxfordshire, firmly believe that Flash is simply misunderstood, despite being labeled as the “grumpiest cat in Oxfordshire.”
Elisha Webber, an Animal Welfare Assistant at Blue Cross in Burford, described Flash as a sweet and distinctive character who has captured the hearts of the staff.
Flash is a cat who prefers human companionship over being a lap cat.
Although he has made progress during his time at the center and has become more curious and sociable around other cats, he still struggles to trust people.
His temperament can be described as “I’m okay being in your presence, but please don’t touch me.”
Due to Flash’s mysterious past, the rehoming center is actively seeking a specific type of home for him.
Ideally, Flash requires a farm or yard environment with a heated outhouse or a similar structure.
The prospective owners should be willing to care for and feed him while allowing him access to their home if he desires.
