Global Council for Tolerance and Peace expresses concern over grave developments in Ukraine-Russia crisis

ABU DHABI, 26th February, 2022 (WAM)– President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Dr.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, has expressed deep concern over the current developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, calling for giving priority to the language of dialogue and negotiation rather than to war and destruction.

Al-Jarwan urged, in a statement today, the international community, to make all possible efforts to establish international peace and security, and to fend off any sedition that might plunge humanity in wars.

“The principles of peace and tolerance are the basis of stability, security, coexistence, prosperity, development and welfare.

There is an urgent need to adhere to these principles in order to protect all peoples of the world.

He urged international and regional players to de-escalate and take into account that dialogue is the best solution to avoid human and material losses, calling for neutralising the use of force between countries while addressing controversial issues, and working instead to settle them through dialogues and negotiation tables.

The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace wished the Ukrainian people and humanity at large safety from any harm, calling for considering the difficult conditions in Ukraine and providing the necessary humanitarian assistance.
