Diego Carlos’s time at Villa Park hasn’t gone as smoothly as expected.
The 31-year-old defender, who joined Aston Villa from Sevilla for a hefty £26 million, faced a major setback with a ruptured Achilles tendon injury. Despite making 38 appearances last season, his season was marred by this unfortunate injury.
Now, Carlos is eyeing a move away from Villa for a chance at more regular playing time.
Fulham is keen on bolstering their squad under Marco Silva’s management. They’ve already taken steps by bringing in Villarreal’s left-sided defender Jorge Cuenca, who is currently in Portugal for a medical exam.
In addition, they’ve secured Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal and added free agent Ryan Sessegnon to their roster.
The club is also in talks with Manchester United regarding a transfer fee for Scott McTominay.
Marseille’s Interest in Andreas Pereira
Meanwhile, Marseille has shown interest in Fulham’s attacking midfielder Andreas Pereira.
The French club has already made headlines this summer with the signings of Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Even though they haven’t met Arsenal’s £30 million asking price for Eddie Nketiah, they’re still pursuing Pereira as a potential addition to their squad.
