The Special Representative for Denmark’s candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), H.E. Mr Kristian Jensen, paid a courtesy call on the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, at Maison Quéau de Quinssy on Friday 4th February 2022.
H.E. Mr Jensen briefed Ambassador Fock Tave on the stance of the Danish government towards tackling global challenges and its objectives should they secure a non-permanent seat on the Council for the term 2025-2026.
Ambassador Fock Tave reflected on the excellent cooperation between Seychelles and Denmark, notably in the field of Maritime Security. Ambassador Fock Tave called on Denmark, as a member of the European Union, to advocate for the vulnerabilities of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) like Seychelles.
Also present at the meeting were Mr Basil Soundy, Honorary Consul for Denmark and senior officials of the Foreign Affairs Department.
