Convicted Drug Dealer Ayub Qassim, Alias ‘Johnny Vegas’, Reveals Detailed Account of Last Encounter with Missing Raver Jay Slater in Remote Tenerife Airbnb

Jay Slater, a 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, went missing on June 17 after attending an after-party at Papagayo’s nightclub in Tenerife.

Ayub Qassim, also known as ‘Johnny Vegas’, drove Jay to a remote Airbnb in Masca but claims Jay left the property alive later that day.

Qassim, a former drug dealer, was tracked down in East London and has provided details of their evening together.

According to TV sleuth Mark Williams-Thomas, Qassim explained that Jay, wanting to continue partying, accepted Qassim’s invitation to stay at his rental.

Despite providing Jay with basic amenities like a towel and a charger, Qassim reports that Jay left on his own accord after being informed by a local about bus services to Los Cristianos.

Qassim alleges he later received a call from Jay’s friends, stating Jay was injured, possibly by a cactus.

The investigation, involving extensive searches near Masca, has not yielded any leads.

Despite Qassim’s cooperation with Spanish police, questions remain about the events leading to Jay’s disappearance, including a reported theft and Jay’s demeanor before leaving the Airbnb.

Jay’s family remains puzzled by the involvement of Qassim and another unidentified man, considering the proximity of the Airbnb to where Jay was last seen.

Spanish authorities continue to investigate multiple angles in Jay Slater’s disappearance, keeping the case open while pursuing new leads.
