Colin Strickland, a key figure in the ‘killer’ yoga teacher murder trial, made a highly agitated exit from court, causing a commotion as he left.

Strickland, who had been testifying against his ex-girlfriend and defendant, Kaitlin Armstrong, took an unusual step by deliberately stepping on a press cameraman’s foot as he left the courthouse.

This incident was captured on video by NewsNation’s Alex Caprariello, and the injured cameraman intends to press charges against Strickland.

Notably, this wasn’t the only time Strickland had a physical encounter with the press, as he was seen batting away a news camera earlier in the day.

Strickland’s Testimony and Armstrong’s Jealousy

During his testimony, Strickland shed light on the jealousy displayed by his former girlfriend, Kaitlin Armstrong. He revealed that Armstrong frequently blocked women’s numbers in his phone without his knowledge and had particular concerns about his relationship with the murder victim, Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson.

Strickland asserted that he and Wilson were only friends when she tragically died, but he admitted to lying to Armstrong about spending time with her.

He even saved Wilson’s phone number under a fake name to avoid Armstrong’s reactions. One incident in March 2022, where Strickland and Wilson participated in a cycling race, particularly triggered Armstrong’s jealousy.

The Day of the Murder

On the day of the murder, Strickland was with Wilson, swimming together. During this time, he informed Armstrong that he had been dropping off flowers at a friend’s house.

He communicated with Armstrong, stating that his phone had died and he was heading home unless she had a different food suggestion. This interaction occurred on the day of the tragic events.

Details of the Murder

Last week, the jury in the trial saw Ring surveillance camera footage from a neighbor’s home. The recording captured Wilson’s screams and the chilling sound of three gunshots.

Prosecutors allege that Armstrong, using a gun purchased by Strickland, shot Wilson twice in the head and once through the heart. Afterward, it is believed that Armstrong fled the apartment on Wilson’s bicycle, which was later found abandoned in bushes behind her apartment.

Armstrong’s Escape and Arrest

Following the murder, Armstrong left Texas and traveled to Costa Rica, where she claimed to be teaching yoga.

During her time on the run, she underwent cosmetic procedures and used aliases. The police eventually arrested her due to an anonymous tip and surveillance footage near Wilson’s apartment. She was apprehended in July and brought back to Austin.

Notably, a few weeks before her trial began, Armstrong attempted to escape during a visit to a doctor’s office, but her escape was short-lived, and she was promptly captured by deputies.
