Cardi B has recently taken to social media to refute claims that she’s selling one of her homes due to financial troubles.
The rapper, known for her hit “WAP,” responded with a defiant message on X (formerly Twitter) after Icy Scoop News reported that she was “facing foreclosure” on her Atlanta mansion and struggling to keep up with payments.
In her post, Cardi B, who recently made headlines for criticizing Popeyes over a chicken wing flavor, was quick to debunk these rumors.
She noted that she and her husband Offset purchased their Atlanta home in 2019 for $5 million, and it’s now valued at $7 million.
Cardi also emphasized that they have no plans to sell the property, and if they ever did, she would only sell her share to Offset, who has a strong connection to Atlanta. She dismissed the allegations as “salt” thrown at her success.
Cardi B and Offset bought their luxurious mansion in Sandy Springs, a suburb of Atlanta, for $5.8 million. The estate spans an impressive 22,000 square feet, featuring five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and four half-baths.
The property is nestled on 5.84 wooded acres, providing plenty of space for the couple and their family.
Financial Transparency
This response from Cardi B comes after she discussed her finances earlier this year.
In an interview with Complex, she opened up about her substantial earnings, revealing that her net worth might have surpassed $80 million.
She confidently stated, “I make a lot, a lot, a lot of money,” highlighting her financial stability.
Swatting Incident
In a separate incident, Cardi B and Offset were victims of a swatting hoax last August.
The couple’s Atlanta home was targeted in a false emergency call reporting a shooting. Police responded with urgency, only to discover that the call was a hoax.
This dangerous prank is part of a troubling trend where celebrities are falsely reported in violent situations to provoke a police response.
Other celebrities who have faced similar incidents include Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, and Paris Hilton.
Home Buying Challenges
The purchase of their Atlanta mansion followed a lengthy house-hunting process.
Cardi B mentioned on Instagram that finding a home they both liked was challenging due to differing tastes between her and Offset.
Some properties Offset rejected due to concerns about the neighborhood, while others had rooms Cardi didn’t like.
Despite the difficulties, they eventually found their dream home.
