Arrest Made After Alleged Knife Attack Near Renowned Museum

The incident involved an injury to Zhung Ting Wei outside the renowned world-famous museum, resulting from an alleged knife attack.

Wilson is facing multiple charges in connection to the incident.

He has been accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as wounding with intent against the same victim, Zhung Ting Wei.

Additionally, Wilson faces three charges related to the possession of offensive weapons.

During the time of the occurrence, Wilson, described as having no fixed address, was reportedly in possession of various knives.

Among these were three knives with black handles and two 10-inch kitchen knives.

The incident unfolded at approximately 10am.

Prosecution’s Account

During a court session at Highbury Corner magistrates court, Prosecutor Edward Kalber provided insight into the events.

Mr. Wei, along with his wife and nephew, had been standing outside a gift shop named “Fancy That of London.”

They were preparing to cross the road towards the British Museum.

Attack and Injury

According to reports, Mr. Wei was allegedly confronted by Wilson and subsequently stabbed.

The knife used in the attack remained embedded in the victim’s left arm.

Kalber detailed that the knife punctured Mr. Wei’s arm, and it was only later removed at a hospital.

Museum Closure and Police Statement

As a result of the stabbing incident, the British Museum had to be evacuated and closed off to the public.

Both law enforcement and medical personnel were present to assist the injured Mr. Wei. Notably, the Metropolitan Police clarified that the incident was not linked to any acts of terrorism.

Legal Proceedings and Remand

Wilson, who appeared in custody before magistrates, had his case transferred to Wood Green crown court.

The hearing at the crown court was scheduled for September 11.

During the proceedings, Wilson was remanded back into custody, and no formal pleas were entered in response to the charges against him.
