Fred Sirieix, known for his role on *First Dates*, had an extra special reason to celebrate as his daughter Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix achieved a remarkable feat at the Olympics in Paris.
The 19-year-old diver, competing in the women’s synchronized 10m platform event, clinched a bronze medal alongside her partner, Lois Toulson.
The duo delivered an impressive final performance after a somewhat rocky start.
After two strong dives, they stumbled with their third, putting them in a challenging position.
However, they managed to regroup and performed their best dive of the competition in the final round. Their stunning comeback secured them the last spot on the podium, narrowly edging out the Canadian team.
Watching from the poolside, Fred Sirieix couldn’t contain his excitement, celebrating with a triumphant fist pump as the results were announced.
Meanwhile, Andrea and Lois were overwhelmed with emotion, embracing and shedding tears of joy after their hard-earned success.
Medal Standings and Future Prospects
The gold medal went to China, while North Korea took silver. Andrea, who finished seventh in Tokyo, has since gained recognition on the world, European, and Commonwealth stages.
This Olympic medal marks a significant addition to her growing list of achievements.
Andrea’s diving partner, Lois Toulson, is in a relationship with fellow Team GB diver Jack Laugher, who is also competing in Paris.
Jack, who won gold in Rio, was in the stands to support Lois and celebrated her achievement with a kiss after the event.
Team GB’s Diving Success
With their bronze, Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson contributed to Team GB’s impressive diving performance in Paris.
This medal adds to the collection started by Tom Daley and Noah Williams, who won silver in the men’s synchronized 10m, and Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen, who took bronze in the women’s synchronized 3m.
