Former Kaizer Chiefs Defender Yagan Sasman Signs One-Year Deal with Casric Stars in Motsepe Foundation Championship

Exciting news for soccer fans: former Kaizer Chiefs defender Yagan Sasman is gearing up for a new chapter with Casric Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

FARPost has confirmed that Sasman has signed a one-year contract with the team, just in time for the new season.

Not long ago, Sasman was in the spotlight as he trained with Magesi FC, aiming to secure a permanent spot with the Betway Premiership newcomers.

Unfortunately, after several weeks of training in Polokwane, the Limpopo club decided against bringing the 28-year-old defender on board.

Sasman has been without a club since January 2024, following his departure from Swedish team AFC Eskilstuna.

His stint with Eskilstuna was aimed at helping the team stay in the Swedish second division, but the club faced relegation after finishing 16th in the league with just 31 points from 30 games.

Career Highlights

Throughout his career, Sasman has also made a mark with Ajax Cape Town, now known as Cape Town Spurs, where he began his football journey in their junior ranks.

With the new season on the horizon, Casric Stars will be counting on Sasman to play a key role in their push for promotion to the Betway Premiership.

 Casric Stars’ New Additions

In addition to Sasman’s signing, Casric Stars has also welcomed veteran football administrator Peter Koutroulis, who previously helped Magesi achieve automatic promotion to the SA elite league. The club has also brought in Selaoetse ‘Sly’ Mosala as an assistant coach.

Last season, Casric Stars finished seventh in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with 43 points from 30 matches, recording 11 wins, 10 draws, and 9 losses.

With these new additions, the team is hopeful for a successful season ahead.
