After a six-year journey with Orlando Pirates, experienced winger Vincent Pule has embarked on a new adventure with SuperSport United. At 32, Pule decided it was time for a change, leaving the Soweto giants by mutual agreement with one year left on his contract.
His departure was influenced by limited game time and injury struggles at Pirates, prompting him to seek a fresh start where he could play more consistently.
Pule was drawn to SuperSport United for several reasons. He spoke highly of the club’s structure and the talented players on the roster, many of whom he had played alongside before.
The presence of familiar faces like Thulani Hlatshwayo, Ricardo Goss, and Siphesihle Ndlovu added to his comfort in making the transition.
A significant factor in Pule’s decision was the opportunity to reunite with coach Gavin Hunt, whom he had previously worked with at Bidvest Wits. Pule admired Hunt’s work ethic and winning mentality, expressing enthusiasm about competing under his guidance once more.
“Coach Gavin [Hunt] is someone who works very hard and is determined to win at all costs.
As players, it’s important to adopt that mentality, and that’s what we aim to do this season,” Pule shared.
Excitement for the Future
Pule expressed his excitement about joining SuperSport United and reconnecting with familiar teammates. He eagerly anticipates the upcoming season, looking forward to contributing to the team’s success.
“I’m thrilled to be here and can’t wait to get started,” he added, underscoring his readiness for the challenges ahead.
Reunited with a Familiar Face
This move also marks a reunion with Gavin Hunt, a coach Pule holds in high regard. Their previous successful collaboration at Bidvest Wits is a positive sign for what they might achieve together at SuperSport United.
With Pule’s experience and Hunt’s leadership, the team looks set for a promising season.
