Scammers Target 73-Year-Old Pensioner in Newport, South Wales, with Fake Spiritual Ritual Promising Family Safety

In a disturbing case of deception, a group of fraudsters pretending to be ‘spiritual healers’ have stolen a significant amount of money and jewelry from a pensioner.

The scammers, who are currently on the run, convinced the 73-year-old victim in Newport, South Wales, to pay for a ritual they claimed would ensure the safety of her family.

The three women, who are believed to be of Chinese descent and speak Cantonese, met the elderly woman in Newport city center. They persuaded her to pay for a spiritual ritual, promising it would protect her loved ones.

After gaining her trust, they raided her bank account and made off with her valuables.

Gwent Police have launched an investigation and are now on the hunt for these scammers. They’ve released CCTV footage showing one of the suspects in a Sainsbury’s store.

The video captures a woman with a pink bag and dark jacket, smiling as she checks out at the register. Authorities are seeking to identify her as part of their ongoing investigation.
