It was a scene of sheer chaos on Los Abrigos beach, Tenerife, leaving families stunned.
In a disturbing video captured by vacationers, a brutal altercation unfolded between two men, drawing gasps and concern from those present.
According to the police, the two men involved are locals who live in nearby caves and have a history of conflict.
The footage reveals a Dutch man in his 30s violently attacking an Austrian man, 48, who was sunbathing topless.
The Dutch assailant used an aluminum pole, inflicting severe cuts on the victim’s back. Witnesses noted that had he used a more solid object, the injuries could have been fatal.
Scene of Horror
The attack took place on the south coast of the island, right in front of families enjoying their day.
Parents hurried their children away from the horrifying scene as the victim stumbled over rocks, desperately trying to escape. The assailant, determined and merciless, pursued him all the way into the sea.
Intervention and Arrest
Police arrived quickly, arresting the attacker, who claimed he was acting on his own. Initial speculation suggested the incident might have been triggered by an alleged pickpocketing attempt.
However, police sources clarified that both men, the victim and the attacker, are not tourists but locals with unstable living conditions.
Online Reaction
The shocking footage quickly spread online, with a Facebook group sharing images of the victim’s injuries. Reports suggest that the altercation may have started over a dispute involving a stolen wallet, though the exact motive remains unclear.
The attacker is now in custody, undergoing a psychiatric evaluation, as the community remains unsettled by the day’s events.
